Exercise 23

I found this whole experience to be interesting, educational, and rewarding. While I already knew about some of the exercises, like Library Thing and Flickr, I learned more about Del.icio.us and RSS, which I have been using since. I especially liked the exercise on image generators! If this opportunity was given again, I would most certainly participate. I enjoyed the challenges that were offered.

Audiobooks and LibriVox

I don't usually listen to a lot of audiobooks, only on long car trips. Most of what I like to listen to isn't in the public domain. For this exercise, I chose to listen to The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and Twas the night before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore.

Podcasts

I had already added a podcast feed to my RSS list on Bloglines back when we first did the Bloglines exercise. That was a link to the podcasts from the Bob Rivers show (out of Seattle).

For this exercise, I dutifully went to Podcast.net and typed the word "library" as a keyword. The first one that caught my eye was called Erotic Xpressions from the Lusty Library. But I thought that might not be the kind of podcast that would really relate to my work here at SPL. So I searched on, and found podcasts from SirsiDynix, which I added to my Bloglines account. I listened to the first 10 minutes of a podcast called 25 Technologies in 50 minutes. It was interesting because he talked about RSS, wikis, and blogs and their use as library tools.
